LOCKSS Programme Kick-Off Meeting
Overview
In conjunction with JISC, we held a programme kick-off meeting at Scarman House, Warwick Conference Centre, to launch the UK LOCKSS Pilot.
The UK LOCKSS Pilot Programme is designed to trail and support the development of a UK LOCKSS network for e-journal archiving and preservation. The objectives of the Pilot Programme are to work with the library community to raise awareness of LOCKSS, facilitate the take up of LOCKSS by raising UK priorities on the development agenda, and to help build a self-sustaining base of LOCKSS users who will collectively preserve a major proportion of the e-journals in common use in the JISC community.
This programme kick-off meeting provided a forum for participants in the LOCKSS UK Pilot Programme to meet each other and build relationships. Participants were also provided with a detailed outline of the structure of support, communication mechanisms, and training programmes that will be in place over the duration of the Pilot Programme.
