User Interviews Published

The DCC carried out a set of interviews to assess user requirements for digital curation. The same sets of questions were put to different groups of data users representing the three data curation categories: Data Creators, Curators and Re-users.

The poster we submitted for the JISC Development Group Joint Programmes Meeting, with its brief to illustrate project outputs (our deliverables), outcomes (effect on the community) and long-term benefits, was highly commended for its user focus in the poster competition on 6-7 July 2005.

The 2005 Conservation Awards - Student Conservator of the Year Award and Anna Plowden Award Shortlist

The Student Conservator of the Year Award 2005 (£10,000, split between the winning student and the training body) draws attention to the achievements of students and the high standards of UK conservation courses. The Anna Plowden Award for Research and Innovation in Conservation 2005 (£2000) is for the best completed programme of research or development aimed at furthering the practice of conservation. Digital Preservation Training Programme: registration of interest

The Digital Preservation Training Programme (DPTP) is a JISC-funded project which offers practical training and support all staff involved in managing digital information within their institutions. The pilot training programme will be geared towards Higher Education and Further Education institutions but the content will also be broadly applicable to a range of institutional settings.

DCC Curation Manual Chapter List Online

The DCC Digital Curation Manual will provide detailed and practical information aimed at digital curation practitioners. Each chapter of the manual will place the topic on which it is focused in the context of digital curation by providing an introduction to the subject, case studies and guidelines for best practice(s). A full list of areas that the Curation Manual aims to cover can now be found online.
