Who will host IDCC18? It could be you!

 
The DCC is now inviting applications for bids to host its international digital curation conference (IDCC) in 2018 and beyond. 
 
If you have a strong interest in digital curation and research data management and want to bring this exciting event to your local community, please submit a bid!
 
The deadline for applications to host IDCC18 in Europe or North America is Monday 24th of April 2017 at 18:00 UTC. For those who want to express interest in hosting IDCC in future years, we ask that you follow the same process (as far as possible) and submit proposals by 22nd of May 2017. All proposals should be submitted to info@dcc.ac.uk We will notify the successful bidder for IDCC18 of our decision by Friday 5th May.

DCC, DPC and ULCC launch training needs survey

The Digital Curation Centre (DCC), Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) and University of London Computer Centre (ULCC) are collaborating on a new survey to gain an updated view on digital archiving and preservation training needs across professional sectors and countries. Colleagues and/or friends who have an interest in digital archiving and preservation are invited to complete the survey available here until Friday 2 October 2015.

DCC training workshop at iPres 2012

The DCC ran a workshop in collaboration with several other digital curation stakeholders today. Pushing the Boundaries - excellence in digital curation education and training through collaboration covered a number of themes, including curriculum development, assessing course content, and developing frameworks to map skills and evaluate training.

Facet Publishing have released Ross Harvey's Digital Curation: A how-to-do-it manual, offering an in-depth, start-to-finish explanation of the digital curation process.  They will follow this in December with Anna E Bülow and Jess Ahmon's Preparing Collections for Digitization.

Digital Curation Centre User Survey 2009: Highlights

My colleague Angus Whyte has provided the following brief summary of two surveys carried out in Phases 1 and 2 of the Digital Curation Centre, in 2006 and 2009 respectively, as part of our evaluations.
