I2S2 Requirements Report available
9 July, 2010 | in DCC News
By: Dr Manjula Patel
The Requirements Report for the I2S2 project, together with the final Lifecycle Model and a supplementary report are now available from the project website.
The report summarises the results of several requirements-gathering activities including immersive studies and a gap analysis. Since the project is investigating both differing scales of science (work-bench to large-scale facilities) as well as disciplinary issues there is a huge range and diversity of requirements that have been identified. The report concludes with pointers to next steps involving an integrated approach to research data management issues.
Dr Manjula Patel
I have been involved with the DCC since its inception in March 2004, originally working within the Research and Development Team on the Registry Repository for Representation Information (RRORI), and later in the Community Development Team. My major role has been in liaising with projects that are assoicated with the DCC and are concerned with curation and preservation issues within specific disciplines, they include: eBank-UK Phase 3 (crystallography); the eCrystals Federation (crystallography); Knowledge & Information Management Through Life (engineering); Infrastructure for Integration in Structural Sciences (chemistry and earth science). A number of reports, papers and presentations have been produced as a result of working with these projects. Further information is available on my staff page at: http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/ukoln/staff/m.patel/.

IDMP project
IDMP project
The Integrated Data Management Planning (IDMP) toolkit and support project aims to help HEIs bridge the gap between data curation policy and practice. It will do this in part by making more accessible the key elements of DAF, AIDA, DRAMBORA and DMP.
