"Good research data management involves careful handling and organisation of research data throughout the research lifecycle and is a necessary prerequisite for effective data sharing and greater openness. For just doing that, TU Delft Library recently introduced DMPonline to help guide TU Delft researchers through the data management planning process."

National development in Sweden for Data Management Plan

Sabina Anderberg (Business Developer) from Stockholm University explains national development in Sweden for Data Management Plans.

"As from 2019, all who are awarded a grant from the Swedish Research Council must have a data management plan (DMP) if the research generates research data. The plan shall describe how collected and/or created data will be managed during the course of the research, plus how they will be dealt with afterward."

Building an integrated service: DMPonline at the University of Manchester

Clare Liggins explains how the University of Manchester uses DMPonline.

"Data Management Plans (DMPs) have been mandatory at the University of Manchester for every research project for nearly 5 years, as has also been the case for most major UK research funders. In April 2018, the University of Manchester completed a major revision of data management planning processes at the University of Manchester and moved to using DMPonline. Since then Manchester researchers have created more than 3000 DMPs using this service."

An exchange of experience on managing research data

On 18 November 2013, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine organised a two hour seminar for support staff interested or involved in RDM developments. The seminar kick-started a week of events being organised at the School to celebrate Explore Your Archives week, examining the emerging role that digital collections have within libraries and archives.
