The DCC ran a workshop in collaboration with several other digital curation stakeholders today. Pushing the Boundaries - excellence in digital curation education and training through collaboration covered a number of themes, including curriculum development, assessing course content, and developing frameworks to map skills and evaluate training.

Librarians, data management and listening dogs

DCC staff were at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress last week. The conference was vast, welcoming over 4,200 librarians to Helsinki and addressing all manner of library concerns. Promoting information literacy for HE researchers

 
Stéphane Goldstein, Research Information Network (RIN), has authored an article for LIBER Quarterly that summarizes the collaborative approaches fostered by the RIN Working Group on Information Handling and the DaMSSI project. 
 
The DCC is a member of the working group and led the work of the DaMSSI project.

Project MANTRA new release

The JISC-funded Research Data MANTRA project has produced a course for postgraduate students and early career researchers who work with data and would like to learn more about how to manage it effectively. Course content is geared towards the geosciences, social and political sciences and clinical psychology; however, many of the issues covered apply equally to all research disciplines. The MANTRA course, which consists of an online module and practical exercises in data handling, is now openly available at http://datalib.edina.ac.uk/mantra.
