Learning Object Metadata

The primary aim of this chapter is to introduce the concept of learning object metadata and to explore its potential for the curation of digital objects used in the context of teaching and learning. The chapter will focus specifically on the IEEE Learning Object Metadata Standard.

The 6th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) took place on 6–8 December 2010 in Chicago. Its theme was ‘Participation & Practice: Growing the curation community through the data decade’. Check out the programme for links to the slides and posters presented at the conference, or catch up with what people have said about it in the event Netvibes page. Last year the conference took place in Bristol, UK, 5-7 December 2011.
