ShareGeo Open is a data repository for Open data. There are lots of useful spatial datasets that have been deposited by users for others to download and re-use. This create – share – reuse philosophy is central to ShareGeo Open. All the data in the repository is open and can be re-used freely making it ideal for students, researchers and teaching staff to find data. Library of Congress Transfer Tools (BagIt, and so on)

This project includes tools for use with BagIt [external PDF], a hierarchical file packaging format for the exchange of digital content jointly developed by the Library of Congress and the California Digital Library. The Library plans to release additional tools as part of a suite of solutions and software development resources as they are completed over time. There are already more tools in the pipeline. Functionality:  Three tools developed by the Library's Repository Development Group are available now.

WebCite® is a project initiated by the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation at the University of Toronto intended to digitally archive web material (web pages, PDF documents, and so on) which are cited in scholarly articles. The National Archive Institute of Portugal (IAN/TT) doesn't currently have the needed infrastructures to support the processes of ingestion and management of digital objects produced by the public administration (PA). The initiatives of the eGovernment establish the need to support its activity in information and communication technologies to improve the efficiency, productivity and quality of their public services. In this scenario it is clear that the number of digital objects produced by these institutions will grow, and that their legal value and authenticity should be assured.

IMAPpreserve

Independent Media Arts Preservation, Inc. (IMAP) is a non-profit service, education, and advocacy organization committed to the preservation of non-commercial electronic media. IMAP has grown from a New York-based consortium of arts organizations and individuals to a national resource for preservation training, information, and advocacy. IMAP's core constituents include institutions, organizations, and individuals whose diverse media collections are underserved by existing preservation efforts.

The International Council on Archives (ICA) is dedicated to the advancement of archives worldwide. ARCHISIG - Conclusive and Secure Long-Term Archiving of Digitally Signed Documents

In the 'ArchiSig' project, archiving concepts and technologies are taken up and extended in a way that will allow secure and conclusive long-term archiving of digitally generated and signed data for 30 years or more. This involves the development of system architectures with new technical components and organizational concepts to guarantee the security of digital signatures. The solutions have to be practical, cost effective and in accordance to legislation in order to allow their deployment in various areas of the society.

PHOTHEREL (PHOTographic HERitage ELearning)

PHOTHEREL was a Socrates (Minerva) project, financed by the European Commission, through which four partners combined their experience: The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), the FotoMuseum Provincie Antwerpen (Belgium), the Service de la Formation Continue of the Universite Toulouse2-Le Mirail (France) and the Centre of Excellence for the Study of the Image (CESI) of the University of Bucharest (Romania). The project mainly aimed at developing a methodology for a "justified" digitization of photographic heritage.

INFER - Italian National Forum on Electronic Resources

INFER is a co-ordinating group set up to co-operate in promoting access to electronic information resources in Italian libraries.
