Archiving, distribution and preservation of language corpora

RODA (Repositório de Objectos Digitais Autênticos)

The National Archive Institute of Portugal (IAN/TT) doesn't currently have the needed infrastructures to support the processes of ingestion and management of digital objects produced by the public administration (PA). The initiatives of the eGovernment establish the need to support its activity in information and communication technologies to improve the efficiency, productivity and quality of their public services. In this scenario it is clear that the number of digital objects produced by these institutions will grow, and that their legal value and authenticity should be assured.

INA - Institut National de l'Audiovisuel

The Institut National de l'Audiovisuel is a public organisation with an industrial and commercial role that was set up through the reform of the audiovisual sector conducted in 1974 and implemented on 6 January 1975. INA has the following main missions: 1. Preservation of the national audiovisual heritage, by collecting audiovisual programmes, preserving and restoring the collections, offering up to date and efficient documentary services, and improving access to images and sounds within the Internet environment. 2.
