Examples of promising work in the data curation and informatics community.  Some are small groups’ efforts to address a problem they are currently facing, while others aim to produce materials that will aid the community at large.

Archiving the Avant Garde

Archiving the Avant Garde was a project sponsored by the University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, which attempted to develop ways to catalog and preserve collections of digital and variable media art.

EPICUR - Enhancement of Persistent Identifier Services: Comprehensive Method for Unequivocal Resource Identification

The objective of the EPICUR project is to expand the existing Die Deutsche Bibliothek Uniform Resource Name (URN) Management project, enabling the complementary application of several Persistent Identifier systems. 


The OceanStore project created a global persistent data store designed to scale to billions of users.


The SHERPA-DP project aims to investigate the practical implementation of an OAIS-compliant system providing preservation services to academic institutional repositories using a distributed model.
