Full Title
ISO 19005-1: Document Management - Electronic Document File Format for Long-term Preservation
Description
ISO 19005-1:2005 defines the file format PDF/A-1. This is a profile of PDF (Portable Document Format), produced by Adobe Systems Incorporated, with a publically available specification. The profile places restrictions on the use of PDF components to ensure reproducability, stability and accessibility over time. The profile is based on PDF Reference 1.4.
PDF/A-1 records the structure and semantics of an electronic document, enabling the longterm preservation of the look and feel, without dependency on proprietary systems for creating, storing or rendering files.
