Advocacy and awareness raising

Making the case for RDM briefing paper

RDM advocacy is needed at many levels, to engage senior managers, support staff and researchers.

We can help you to engage senior management in a number of ways. We can:

  • produce funder profiles to highlight the compliance drivers your institution is subject to
  • help you to establish steering groups to direct RDM activity
  • visit to advise senior managers or steering groups
  • help you make a persuasive business case for RDM to unlock funding.

Raising awareness of Research Data Management is also key. We can run events to highlight the benefits of managing and sharing research data. We can also help you to develop promotional materials to profile local support and services.

The DCC provides a briefing paper on this topic, which is a useful starting point.
