Requirements gathering

The DCC offers a number of RDM survey tools to help with requirements gathering, namely DAF and CARDIO.

The Data Asset Framework (DAF) is often used to gather researchers’ needs via online questionnaires and interviews. We can help you to develop questionnaires and interview templates. Or if desired, we can conduct this work, analyse the results and provide recommendations for future work.

Examples of DAF questionnaires and interview frameworks are available in the implementation guide.

CARDIO is a benchmarking tool to identify gaps in infrastructure. It is based on a 1-5 rating scale. We can help you to use the online tool or faciliatie focus groups and workshops to gather requirements.

We have also developed a custom version of CARDIO to assess compliance with the EPSRC requirements.

Requirements gathering work is crucial as an input to RDM policy and strategy development.
