DaMSSI

JISC and RIN co-funded the Research Data Management Skills Support Initiative (DaMSSI) which was led by DCC. The project ran from November 2010 to August 2011.

DaMSSI-ABC began the second phase of activity in August 2012 and will run until August 2013.

JISC and RIN co-funded the Research Data Management Skills Support Initiative (DaMSSI) which was led by DCC.

DaMSSI aimed to facilitate the use of tools like Vitae's Researcher Development Framework (RDF) and the Seven Pillars of Information Literacy model developed by the Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) to help researchers - and their employers - to effectively plan training and professional development in the area of data management.

Working with JISC’s Research data management training materials (RDMTrain) projects, DaMSSI  undertook analysis and provided guidance and support that drew from the experiences of these projects.

DaMSSI, which was overseen by the RIN Working Group on Information Handling, ran from November 2010 to August 2011. Links to the project outputs and related resources are provided below.

The work of the RIN Working Group on Information Handling and DaMSSI has been summarised by Stephane Goldstein, RIN in LIBER Quarterly,Volume 21 (2012), No. 2.
