We are pleased to announce that the 19th edition of the International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC25) will take place in The Hague, the Netherlands between 17-19 February 2025, with a theme of Twenty years back, twenty years forward: lessons and directions in digital curation

Twenty years back, twenty years forward: lessons and directions in digital curation

The first International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) took place in 2005, one year after the launch of the Digital Curation Centre. The tenth IDCC took place in 2015, one year before the publication of the FAIR principles.

The Call for Proposals in 2015 encouraged submissions to take a decade-long view of the past, present or future. IDCC25 is consciously revisiting that call with a similar emphasis on building on what we have learned and recommendations on how to progress, but this time with a generational perspective on digital curation.

Although they need not be over a 20-year period, contributors are invited to reflect on the changes in different areas, consider ongoing developments, and think about emerging challenges for the next generation of digital curation work.

Please visit the Conference Theme page to learn more about the sub-themes.

Call for Submissions

The call for submissions for IDCC25, is now open.  We are inviting submissions for:

  • Papers - are for research or practice work which is suitably advanced, has substantial results, and reflections that would inform the work of the digital curation community
  • Lightning Talks - These talks are an opportunity to showcase work in progress or completed projects that you believe offers insights or practical lessons that advance digital curation research or practice. Treat IDCC25 as a stage to promote your work and potentially recruit partners to collaborate with
  • Posters - offer a great opportunity to showcase and promote your work to the community through images rather than just words, as well as interact with others, gather feedback and exchange ideas

The submission deadline for initial proposals will be 26 July 2024.

Visit the Call for Submissions page for information on submission categories for the conference, including a full list of submission templates and key dates for deadlines.
