The Welcome address at the Pre-Conference Drinks Reception on Monday 20 February will be given by Professor Sir Timothy O'Shea, the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh. Tim has had a long and illustrious career with his academic output covering topics relating to computer based learning, artificial intelligence, and mathematics education, including 10 books, 22 BBC television programmes and over 100 journal articles.

If you’re supporting researchers to manage and share their data, there are a few useful workshops coming up in early 2017 that may be of interest.

The workshop programme covers a range of different aspects of curation including training, curriculum development and data management planning, through to value, impact and infrastructure.

Thursday 20 October 23.59 (BST) is the final date for the submission of full research papers and practice paper abstracts. The submissions will then be passed to our reviewing panel for consideration, with the final decision expected to be conveyed to authors by the end of November. We look forward to being able to offer an eclectic and exciting programme of papers for our conference delegates.

For the last 10 years the International Digital Curation Conference has included a very successful workshop programme run either side of the main conference. IDCC17 will be no exception with the workshops taking place on Monday 20 February and Thursday 23 February.
We would now welcome submissions for the workshops programme.

'Upstream, Downstream: embedding digital curation in workflows for data science, scholarship and society'
The Call for Papers for the 12th International Digital Curation Conference has now been released.
The call focuses on the challenge of embedding digital curation in organisational workflows to ensure that not only is data findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR), but that we have flexible and resilient infrastructures openly available to support communities in this endeavour.

We are delighted to announce that the 12th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC17) will be held from Monday 20 February to Thursday 23 February 2017 at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).
The main conference will take place Tuesday 21 February to Wednesday 22 February, with workshops and other related events on Monday 20 and Thursday 23 February.
The Call for papers will be published shortly so please consider how you might want to participate in this key event.
