Research Data Management Forum

Our Research Data Management Forum workshops allow data custodians to explore in depth the challenges currently faced by digital curators.

Because we limit RDMF workshop numbers to no more than 50 people, our workshops are in-depth and highly interactive sessions. To give you a taste of the topics we’ve discussed previously, past RDMF workshop titles are listed below.

You’ll also find details of forthcoming RDMF workshops on this page. Topics under consideration for future workshops include ‘Data and the Research Excellence Framework’ and ‘Socio-legal and ethical data challenges: managing confidentiality, anonymity, privacy and consent’.

Research Data Management Forum: Dealing with Sensitive Data

This was the fourth meeting of the Research Data Management Forum. Aimed at researchers, digital repository managers, staff from library, information and research organisations, data curators, data centre managers, data scientists, research funding organisations and research networks, the event addressed the topic "Dealing with Sensitive Data: managing ethics, security and trust."

Research Data Management Forum: Roles and Responsibilities for Effective Data Management

26 - 27 November, 2008
Following on from our Research Data Management Forum: Inaugural Workshop on19-20 March 2008 we are, in partnership with the Research Information Network, holding our second workshop on the roles and responsibilities for effective data management at Chancellors Conference Centre, Manchester, commencing late afternoon on 26 November 2008 and finishing mid-afternoon on 27 November 2008. The cost to delegates is £60.00, which covers accommodation and dinner.

Research Data Management Forum: Inaugural Workshop

In partnership with the Research Information Network we have created a new forum for the exchange of experience and best practice between the managers and technical staff from UK data centres, university repository installations and other related organisations with responsibility for the discovery, delivery and preservation of digital research output.
