Research Data Management Forum: Roles and Responsibilities for Effective Data Management
Overview
Following on from our Research Data Management Forum: Inaugural Workshop on19-20 March 2008 we are, in partnership with the Research Information Network, holding our second workshop on the roles and responsibilities for effective data management at Chancellors Conference Centre, Manchester, commencing late afternoon on 26 November 2008 and finishing mid-afternoon on 27 November 2008. The cost to delegates is £60.00, which covers accommodation and dinner.
The themes explored at this workshop will include:
- Roles and responsibilities associated with data curation and good stewardship
- The core skills required for these roles
- Ways in which the various stakeholders might acquire the required skills
- Models and working practice to facilitate the exchange of skills

Venue
Chancellors Hotel and Conference Centre [external] is set in five acres of landscaped gardens, and yet only three miles from Manchester city centre. It incorporates modern conference facilities with a country house ambience which lends itself well to residential conferences.

Chancellors Hotel is conveniently located for all local amenities and is only 3 miles from the newly refurbished Piccadilly Train Station and approximately 5 miles from Manchester International Airport.
