In a consultancy and training capacity, the DCC worked with the research funder International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to assist with the implementation of their Open Data Statement of Principles.  This work included the piloting the use of Data Management Plans (DMPs) for their funded projects.  The project also included the development of an IDRC specific DMP template, writing of guidance and support materials for staff and applicants, as well as providing support to a cohort of researchers, who responded to the IDRC’s funding call Open Research Data Initiative.

DCC staff also held a one-day training workshop for staff at Ottawa head offices in September 2019 and webinars for IDRC staff in the regional offices in Asia, Africa and Latin America.  The training focused broadly on Research Data Management, DMPs, Open Research, Data Ethics, IPR and Licencing.
