Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) Webinar Series - Overview
Starting in February 2026, we launched a series of webinars to showcase the digital research infrastructure projects and communities in the UK and beyond in collaboration with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Join us to learn about state-of-the-art initiatives that aim to advance research tools and techniques, foster collaboration and data sharing, and accelerate discoveries across a range of academic disciplines and sectors. And if you work on a research infrastructure project and are interested in being a guest speaker, please email us at info@dcc.ac.uk.
Digital Research Infrastructure Webinar Series: Getting to Know FAIRsharing Resources, Communities and Services
Wednesday 16 September
Join our speakers, Dr Lister and Prof Sansone, to learn about FAIRsharing, a widely endorsed service that supports a wide range of FAIR-enabling activities from data management planning to FAIR compliance, working with communities across disciplines and at national and European levels.
FAIR expectations are becoming increasingly embedded within UK and European funder, publisher, and organisational policies. A central challenge is not whether FAIR matters, but how to navigate and use an increasingly complex ecosystem of standards, databases, policies, and guidance to enable informed FAIR decision-making and practical implementation. This webinar will introduce FAIRsharing, a widely endorsed service that supports a wide range of FAIR-enabling activities from data management planning to FAIR assistance, working with communities across disciplines and internationally. We will describe how FAIRsharing integrates with services such as the data management and stewardship tools, engages and supports national and European research infrastructures through the Community Champion programme, and operationalises FAIR compliance in practice, working with a number of institutional repositories.
About our guest speaker

With a background in computational biology, standards development and FAIR data practices, she leads the curation and community outreach for FAIRsharing’s global registry of standards, databases and policies. Allyson is an active contributor to the Research Data Alliance (RDA), where she co-chairs the FAIRsharing and TRSP working groups.
Prof. Susanna-Assunta Sansone is the Academic Lead of the University of Oxford's Research Practice Programme, Professor of Data Readiness in the Department of Engineering Science, Director of the Oxford e-Research Centre and Data Readiness R&D group lead. An author of the FAIR Principles, she is a member of a number of FAIR-related EOSC Task Forces and Expert Groups, co-chair of the FAIRsharing RDA WG, and co-lead of the ELIXIR Interoperability Platform.
