Dr Kenneth Thibodeau, Director, Electronic Records Archives Program, National Archives and Records Administration (US) presented a lecture on Building the Archives of the Future at this Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute (HATII) [external] and DCC sponsored event.

This event followed on from the Digital Asset Management with Fedora and METS awareness events which took place on the preceding two days. Although this event was primarily aimed at representatives from local institutions, archivists, software developers and people from commercial organisations with an interest in digital curation, digital preservation and a passion to learn more about our work also attended.

In conjunction with the University of Liverpool, we held an Information Day on Institutional Repositories at the Harold Cohen Library of the University of Liverpool.

In association with the DCC, Greg Janée, the chief architect of the US National Geospatial Digital Archive, presented a seminar on The National Geospatial Digital Archive.

Diego Prina Ricotti presented a talk on AstroDAS, a system that allows the sharing of distributed annotations, at 4.00pm as part of the Scottish Database Interest Group [external] seminar season at The School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, Appleton Tower 2nd floor seminar room (2.02).
