The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) [https://eosc.eu/] has been in development over the past decade and aims to provide researchers across Europe with an open and trusted multi-disciplinary environment that supports the production, sharing and reuse of FAIR data. A key aim of EOSC is to foster an environment where Open Science practices and skills are taught and rewarded making open research the ‘new normal’.

The PATH2EOSCUK project is being undertaken by Jisc, DCC and UKRI between May-November 2026 to explore the potential creation of a UK EOSC node. This virtual workshop will share the results of an initial mapping undertaken by the PATH2EOSCUK project to build a shared picture of EOSC related activities in the UK. This interactive, virtual workshop aims to raise awareness about EOSC among a wide range of professional development bodies, training providers and research support professionals and to collaboratively identify possible approaches for coordinating UK training activities relevant to EOSC.

Who should attend?

We welcome participation from all interested parties but especially those involved in developing and delivering training, professional development and support for the uptake of Open Science. We welcome participation from groups working to upskill researchers as well as those targeting research support staff such as Data Stewards and Research Technical Professionals. The outcomes of this workshop will be shared to enable wider consultation and contributions from the community.
