Introduction to data management planning, DMPonline, and planning for sustainability
11 May 2015 |
In light of recent funding body mandates, many UK HEIs are working to develop and implement research data management systems, services and support. The Digital Curation Centre (DCC) is delighted to announce that we will be hosting a half-day workshop to provide an introduction to data management planning and DMPonline, the DCC's web-based tool to help researchers write DMPs. We will demonstrate DMPonline and profile the options available for customising the tool. The session will also include an introduction to the business model canvas approach and a practical exercise to help participants start to plan to sustain their RDM services.
By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
- understand funders' requirements for data management and sharing
- understand what a data management plan is and how to go about completing one
- be aware of DMPonline and how the tool can be customised by institutions
- be better able to plan to sustain their RDM services
