DCC Data Centre Research/Liaison Officer

18 months in the first instance

The main objective for this post is to build bridges with UK data centres, to understand their current curation and preservation practices, and to share their experiences with other stakeholder communities. The post holder will carry out research into what tools are currently available for digital curation and preservation activity and also investigate how they are being used by a range of communities. The post holder will work closely with DCC User Services team and the DCC Tools and Infrastructure team to define, run, evaluate, and describe a number of experiments pertaining to curation and preservation tools in the DCC Testbed environment.

Appointment will be on the Management, Professional and Administrative Grade, level 7, spine point 32-36 depending on experience.
