important historical sources from the past century, and fascinating insights into our society and imagination. Digitizing, preserving and exposing these materials to the public present unique challenges and opportunities in terms of technology, logistics and funding.

Topics include:
- Preservation & digitization of sound and media collections
- Notable sound and moving image preservation projects
- Funding strategies
- Creating metadata for media collections
- Permission and copyright issues for sound and media
