UK PubMed Central - Vacancy for Project Manager

Joy Davidson | 12 June 2006

The Wellcome Trust is a lead party in a UK-wide consortium to establish a UK PubMed Central service (UKPMC). Based on the US National Institute's of Health PubMed Central (PMC), UKPMC will
provide a stable, permanent and free-to-access online digital archive of the research publications and datasets that have arisen from research funded by the Trust and other members of the UKPMC Implementation group.

We now have an opportunity for a Project Manager to steer the initiative during its development phase. This will involve managing the chosen supplier of this service and ensuring that all service levels are met and the services run according to agreed specification. You will work closely with the UKPMC
Implementation Group to help define future system enhancements, ensuring that all parties are kept up to date and represent the group at various meetings and conferences. In addition you will also be the first point of contact for all queries relating to
the project and responsible for managing and delivering the project within agreed budgets and timescales

The Wellcome Trust is one of the world's largest biomedical research charities and its mission is to foster and promote research with the aim of improving human and animal health.
