SOFTWARE DEVELOPER AND REPOSITORY SUPPORT OFFICER (Fixed term for 13 months)

Salary circa £25,000

Ref: ACS/302/06

Applications are invited for the fixed term post of Software Developer and
Repository Support Officer. The post is full-time for a 13-month period from
appointment.

You will provide systems development and technical support for the
University's new Institutional Repository and will be part of the team
responsible for software specification and design for the CAIRO (Complex
Archive Ingest for Repository Objects) Project
<http://cairo.paradigm.ac.uk>, which is funded by the Joint Information
Systems Committee (JISC).

You must possess a degree in a relevant computer science discipline and a
relevant postgraduate degree, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
You must also have systems development experience in Windows and Linux environments and knowledge of XML, Java, SQL, Apache, Tomcat, SOAP, WSDL, PostgreSQL and MySQL.

You should also have good oral and written communication skills, including
the ability to effectively communicate with non-technical audiences. In
addition, you should possess analytical and problem solving skills and be
able to work both independently and in a distributed team

Salary will be circa £25,000 p.a. dependent upon skills and experience.
