UK PubMed Central (UKPMC) has been running successfully since January 2007 and is the first national subject-based research repository in the UK. A pioneering project that will help drive fundamental change in research communication, this online biomedical repository provides scientists and the public with free and immediate access to a vast collection of research papers in the medical and life sciences. As we enter a new phase, we need a superb advocate to promote the service to biomedical researchers and to the wider community.
Acting as the main champion for UKPMC, a cornerstone of its success will be your ability to ensure awareness and use of the service.
You'll inform researchers of the submission process and will produce an engagement strategy to encourage larger numbers to participate in this groundbreaking project.
This is a high profile role and to succeed you'll need to have experience of raising awareness by delivering effective online and offline promotional campaigns. Motivated and driven, you'll have the credibility and communication skills needed to work successfully with multiple stakeholders and have knowledge of the research sector. Now, you'll be ready and eager to deploy your considerable talents to spearhead an exciting and cutting-edge project for the scientific research community.
