ISOC Netherlands and ISOC Belgium Participate in Launch of OpenDoc Society

A new member-based organisation, OpenDoc Society, are trying to bring a global community of users, technologists, and decision makers together around OpenDocument Format (ODF), an OASIS/ISO-standardised, vendor neutral file format that enables cross-platform collaboration between people and many different types of applications. On 23 October 2007, the new initiative was launched with a large event in the Royal Library in the Hague, with speakers from several governments, the European Commission, and the OASIS TC that produces ODF.
