Planned Upgrade of PRONOM to Remove x-PUIDs

The National Archives provides the PRONOM service to the digital preservation community; PRONOM is a registry of technical information about file formats and software which enables long-term preservation of digital data. Each PRONOM format contains a persistent unique identification code (PUID), which identifies the format unambiguously.
