DCC CARMEN Case Study Published

Adrian Richardson | 28 November 2008

A report from our first e-Science longitudinal study, based on a series of observations of the CARMEN project, has just been published in our Resource Centre. CARMEN (Code, Analysis, Repository & Modelling for e-Neuroscience), a four-year project that is still in progress, aims to create a virtual laboratory for neurophysiology, enabling the sharing and collaborative exploitation of data, analysis code and expertise that are not physically co-located. Our case study records not only the technical challenges encountered but also reflects upon the organisational and behavioural undercurrents of this ambitious e-Science undertaking. Further information about CARMEN can be found at http://www.carmen.org.uk. Alastair Knowles, the CARMEN project manager, will be speaking next Tuesday morning at our 4th International Digital Curation Conference in Edinburgh on the topic "My Collaborators and Other Animals - Observations on the Socioeconomics of Data Sharing from the CARMEN Project".
