Second Workshop on Leveraging High Performance Computing Resources for Managing Large Datasets
Co-located with IEEE Big Data Conference 2015

The target audience includes, but is not limited to, archivists, librarians, data curators, data managers, researchers, educators and students.
No prior HPC experience is required.
During this hands-on workshop, the participants will:
- Get acquainted with the Big Data management challenges and learn about some of the solution strategies to mitigate those challenges using HPC
- Get an introduction to the national CyberInfrastructure called XSEDE, and the high-end storage and computing environment at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC)
- Get access to the TACC computing and storage resources for participating in the hands-on sessions
- Develop practical skills for defining Big Data management workflows on HPC resources
- Learn about the advantages of information visualization using Tableau
- Get an overview of using databases on remote supercomputing resources
