Foundation for Science and Technology (FCCN)
FCCN, digital services of FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology, provides advanced digital services to the Portuguese scientific and academic community. Its mission is to support science, technology, and knowledge. FCCN assumes a relevant role in Portugal’s research ecosystem by ensuring high-performance connectivity, computing resources, collaboration platforms, authentication and identification management systems, and digital infrastructures for education and research institutions.
In addition, it supports the operationalization of Open Science at the national level, promoting policies, infrastructures, and services that enable open access to scientific publications, research data, and other scientific output. Through these efforts, FCCN contributes to increasing transparency, accessibility, and the overall impact of scientific research in Portugal.

University of Lisbon (Iscte)
The Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon was founded in 1972 as one of Portugal’s first modern universities, with the central aim of studying labour and social dynamics in a rapidly changing world. Since its establishment, the university has expanded its disciplinary reach into five schools: Iscte Business School, the School of Sociology and Public Policy, the School of Technology and Architecture, the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Applied Digital Technologies (Iscte - Sintra).
On campus, students find not only a robust intellectual tradition, with mentorship from teaching staff involved in cutting-edge research, but also a vibrant, multicultural environment. Of the approximately 10 000 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, nearly 20% are international, coming from 80 different countries.
Furthermore, the university is actively engaged in collaborative projects, networks and partnerships around the world, including a range of educational, training and research programs supported by the European Union. Through its commitment to internationalization, innovative research and education aligned with professional standards, Iscte prepares its students for competitive careers and thoughtful lives in the 21st century.

Coalition for Networked Information (CNI)
The Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) is dedicated to the transformative promise of digital information technology to advance scholarly communication and enrich intellectual productivity. CNI was founded as a venue for collaboration on networked information technologies and resources, particularly among librarians and information technologists with a focus on the higher education and research enterprise.
As the premier organisation fostering collaboration between library and information technology communities, CNI represents the interests of over 200 member institutions from higher education, publishing, information technology, scholarly and professional organisations, foundations, libraries, library organisations, and other sectors. Semi-annual membership meetings bring together CNI member representatives to discuss projects and plan for future initiatives. CNI is entirely funded through membership dues.
CNI is based in Washington, D.C., and welcomed Kate Zwaard as executive director in September 2025.
