This summer has been busy for us at the DCC and our FAIRsFAIR colleagues as we were finalizing another round of project reports that have just been published on Zenodo. This blog post gives you and overview of the three latest reports we contributed to.
The course “Delivering Research Data Management Services” has started again! Blog by René van Horik, RDNL The Anglo-Dutch initiative to provide an online course on research data management services started its fourth round this week. The course is moderated by 6 experts from the “Digital Curation Centre” (DCC-UK) and the Dutch coalition “Research Data Netherlands” (RDNL). As the moderator of the first week of this course I am happy to see that there is already quite a lot of engagement and interaction with the participants. The second week of the Delivering Research Data Management MOOC focused on the tools and methods that our learners can use to self-evaluate their RDM service offerings and provide a framework to develop their services further. Moderation was provided by René, who led moderation for the introductory modules, and myself, Ryan from the DCC. As ever, engagement from participants was key to the week’s learning, with some great insights into the challenges and successes people have encountered in their work.
In week 3 of the Delivering RDM services MOOC we looked at Data Management Plans (DMPs) and RDM guidance websites. We asked participants to review content from DMPs to assess what makes a good plan and to look at existing websites to see what models could be copied.
Week 4 of our DRDMS MOOC saw us tackling issues around long-term preservation of data, which essentially boils down to repositories
