The purpose of this roundtable meeting is to look at issues relating to economic sustainability, a topic that originates from the work of the Blue Ribbon Task Force on Sustainable Digital Preservation and Access (BRTF). Discussion at the Roundtable will doubtless reference the BRTF findings, but the purpose is also to focus on new work and to hear from an international mix of participants about the various national actions that are currently happening to ensure an economically sustainable digital future.
PrestoCentre organises as part of its professional Development Training Series a course in "Long-Term Audiovisual Digital Preservation: Strategy, Planning & Tools". Participants in the course include large audiovisual archives, service providers and technology providers.
In conjunction with the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), the Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils (CCLRC), and the British Library (BL), we delivered a two-day workshop at Scarman House, University of Warwick, to help shape the international digital curation and preservation research agenda for the next ten years.
The fourth DCC Roadshow was held in conjunction with the Oxford eResearch Centre, Oxford University Computing Services and the Bodleian Libraries, and took place from 14 - 16 September 2011.
