The DigCurV project is delighted to announce 'Framing the digital curation curriculum' conference.
With the development of an advanced knowledge-based society, digital curation is becoming a central challenge and activity for libraries, archives, museums and other cultural organizations. The need for skilled professionals to manage digital collections is evident in Europe and internationally, yet there are limited numbers of institutions currently offering professional training and education programmes to prepare individuals to work in the field.
The main theme of the 17th International Conference on Electronic Publishing (ELPUB) will be extracting and processing data from the vast wealth of digital publishing and the ways to use and reuse this information in innovative social contexts in a sustainable way.
iPRES, the major international conference on digital preservation, will be held at the Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal, from 2-5 September 2013. The conference invites original contributions addressing a wide range digital preservation challenges.
Open Access Research Data without Barriers
As “big data” emerges as an international priority, the Research Data Alliance (RDA) is a newly formed organization whose goal is to accelerate data-driven innovation world-wide through research data sharing and exchange.
The first four workshops in the DataCite series looked in detail at some of the key elements of data citation using DOIs.
This fifth workshop will take a more holistic view of citation in the context of the day-to-day work of the repository and consider what practical measures are needed to overcome the barriers - whether financial, technical or cultural - to the adoption of DOIs (or other identifiers) for data
