Screening the Future is an annual showcase delivered by PrestoCentre and focusing on the latest technological trends in audiovisual preservation.
This international conference brings together leaders in the fields of technology and research, and those with strategic responsibility for digitisation and digital preservation in the creative and cultural industries including broadcast, post-production, motion picture, sound and music recording, visual and performing arts.
Research data in the advance of education, research and innovation
Data collation, analysis and distribution are functions integral to digital scholarship and increasingly shape our data management and curation activities. Data infrastructures for advanced education, research and innovation are defined across a broad spectrum, ranging from virtual worlds and online gaming to laboratory instrumentation and large scale earth observations.
The 5th EABH Summer School for Archivists will be
dealing with both theoretical and practical issues related to
‘Digital Resources Management’. It will include exercises and
interactive sessions on the subject as well as guided tours. The
sessions will be taught by recognized experts in their fields. After
successful completion of the Summer School, participants will
receive a certificate of attendance.
About the Workshop
Developing effective means of measuring the impact of data publication is essential if data is to become recognised as a first class research output. The field of data metrics is still in its infancy, although both established indexing services and ‘altmetrics’ providers are now offering services which measure aspects of data use and impact.
If you have an interest in training researchers how to use computing, software or data, you should attend the workshop for e-Infrastructure trainers on 14 August at the newly opened Hartree Centre.
The goal of the workshop is to create a community of trainers who will work together to improve the quality and provision of e-Infrastructure training. We will bring together a huge variety of trainers so that they can network, share ideas and work on a strategy for improving training.
