The International Data Week will bring together data scientists, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policy makers and data stewards to explore how best to exploit the data revolution to improve our knowledge and benefit society through data-driven research and innovation.
IASSIST is an international organization of professionals working in and with information technology and data services to support research and teaching in the social sciences. Its 300 members are from a variety of workplaces, including data archives, statistical agencies, research centers, libraries, academic departments, government departments, and non-profit organizations.
The University of Edinburgh is hosting a free one-day workshop to discuss the challenge of managing research data in relation to records management and archives. The University takes a proactive and practical cross-disciplinary approach to the management of data, records, archives and other collections. This is an opportunity to explore with other professionals the new issues we are facing at a time of rapid change.
LIBER (Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche – Association of European Research Libraries) is the main network for research libraries in Europe. The association, founded in 1971, includes more than 400 national, university and other libraries from over 40 countries. LIBER’s Annual Conference is one of the most important gatherings for research library professionals. During the event, participants can build networks and share information and ideas with one another. The conference is held in a different location each year.
