Patricia Flatley Brennan, RN, PhD, is the Director of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The NLM is the world’s largest biomedical library and the producer of digital information services used by scientists, health professionals and members of the public worldwide.
She will give the closing keynote lecture at the 14th edition of the International Digital Curation Conference. Her lecture will focus on data management strategies that promote data-driven discovery in medical science and healthcare.
Her main goal in data management is to make it cheaper.
The International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) 2019 will host a community discussion with two major players in digital curation:
- Nancy McGovern, Director of Digital Preservation at MIT Libraries
- Clifford Lynch, Executive Director, Coalition for Networked Information (CNI)
Delegates will put forward questions which will be discussed live by the two speakers.

It’s been a while (16 months in fact!) since the DCC held an RDMF, and we’ve had a few requests from the community to provide a space for discussing challenges and sharing lessons on providing research data support. Hot on the heels of a trial at IDCC in Melbourne, we’re going to bring back the RDMF in an unconference format.
