On 14th March 2019, the DCC team were in Amsterdam to participate in the launch of the H2020 funded FAIRsFAIR initiative which we'll be partnering on for the next three years. FAIRsFAIR aims to to contribute towards the culture change needed to increase the production and use of data that are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) in the European Open Science Cloud.
A report on the DCC's first foray into the Southern Hemisphere to run IDCC19 in partnership with the University of Melbourne
A few weeks ago, a new paper was published that I co-authored with Rosie Higman from the University of Manchester and Daniel Bangert from the University of Göttingen. It untangles the overlaps between FAIR, Open and RDM, providing insights on how each can be used for advocacy and improving good research practice. Check it out!

From mid-July to mid-September, the DCC’s Sarah Jones will be working remotely on placement with the Australian Research Data Commons. Sarah will be in Australia on behalf of the EOSC Executive Board to attend the ARDC Skills Summit and meet with relevant data stakeholders to explore what lessons can be learned from their work to inform European initiatives. She’ll be based primarily at the ARDC offices in Melbourne, but will also visit Brisbane and Sydney and meet with CSIRO, various universities and some partners in recent ARDC Data and Services Discovery projects.
