Description

This international standard provides a high-level framework for records management, including: the benefits of records management, the regulatory environment, development of records management policies, the assignment of responsibilities, design and implementation of a records system, the management of records management processes and controls. Subjects covered include data capture, retention policies, storage mechanisms, access and information protection, the role of classification and vocabulary control.audit trails and staff training requirements.

Part 2 consists of guidelines providing current best practice information and workflow recommendations using the general headings covered in Part 1.
