From January 2014, the International Journal of Digital Curation (IJDC) will require authors to include data citations in their submissions wherever applicable. The journal will also require them to place their data in a custodial environment where it will be preserved for an appropriate period, given a permanent and resolvable identifier, and made available as openly as possible.
Check out our series of preview interviews with keynote speakers, including: Dr Fran Berman, the Edward G. Hamilton Distinguished Professor in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Atul Butte, Chief of the Division of Systems Medicine and Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Genetics at Stanford University; and Trisha Cruse, Director of the University of California Curation Center at the California Digital Library (CDL) and co-organiser of IDCC14.
We're pleased to announce that the DCC has just launched a new and improved version of DMPonline, our web-based tool for creating Data Management Plans.
This new release marks a major progression in terms of usability. The evaluation showed that users had difficulties creating a mental model of how the tool worked. We’ve simplified the concepts behind the tool and responded to requests to shorten the DCC Checklist and ask funder questions directly instead.
We have had an amazing response to our call for posters and are now able to offer a preview of those that will be on display at IDCC14.
This new book published on 20 December 2013 is a step-by-step guidance to setting up and running effective institutional research data management services to support researchers and networks.
